102 days until my birthday.
Today is day 3 of acquiring the 21 day habit of confidence by utilizing the book ‘the confidence gap’ by Russ Harris.
I read chapter 3.
There was a True or False quiz consisting of 3 questions.
I got 1 out of 3 answers right.
Russ Harris talks about 4 myths about fear.
1.) Myth: Fear is a sign of weakness.
He says “when you step out of your comfort zone, take a risk, or face a challenge, you will feel fear. That’s not weakness; it’s the natural state of affairs for normal human beings.”
2.) “Myth: Fear impairs performance”
“Fear is not your enemy, It is a powerful source of energy that can be harnessed and used for your benefit.”
Harness your fear as a powerful source of energy and use it for your benefit.
3.) “Myth: Fear holds you back”
“It is not fear that holds people back–it is their attitude toward it that keeps them stuck.”
What is your attitude towards your fear which keeps you stuck?
4.) “Myth: Confidence is the absence of fear”
“Rule 2: Genuine Confidence is not the absence of fear; it is a transformed relationship with fear.”
How do you have a transformed relationship with fear?
Today’s day 4 of acquiring the habit of GTD and more specifically, GTD – Organizing.
“There are seven primary types of things that you’ll want to keep track of and manage from an organizational perspective:”
“• A “Projects” list”
“• Project support material”
“• Calendared actions and information”
“• Next Actions lists”
“• A “Waiting For” list”
“• Reference material”
“• A “Someday/Maybe” list”
Keep track of your “Projects” list and manage it from an organizational perspective.
Keep track of your Project support material and manage it from an organizational perspective.
Keep track of your Calendared actions and information and manage them from an organizational perspective.
Keep track of your Next Actions lists and manage them from an organizational perspective.
Keep track of your “Waiting For” list and manage it from an organizational perspective.
Keep track of your Reference material and manage it from an organizational perspective.
Keep track of your “Someday/Maybe” list and manage it from an organizational perspective.
The difference between this list of “seven primary types of things to keep track of and manage from an organizational perspective” and “the main groupings into which things will go as you decide what they are and what needs to be done about them” are:
1.) “Trash” is not one of the primary types of things.
2.) “Project plans (review for actions)” is worded differently with “Project support material”. Are these 2 the same?
Today’s day 4 of acquiring the habit of getting organized, and more specifically, utilizing Alejandra’s PPP.
At 21:34, I watched video 3 “3. Compulsive Shopper”.
In video 3, she mentions we have to figure out why there’s clutter… what’s the root cause.
The 1st root cause, Compulsive Shopper, buys more stuff.
If you have to bring stuff in, you have to take stuff out.
The compulsive shopper keeps buying without purging
Since this is you, follow the 1 in 1 out rule: if you buy something, take some one thing out.
The compulsive buyer needs to downsize.
Figure out why you’re buying.
Do you need the thing you’re buying?
Limit what you’re buying.
“Less is more”
Seek experiences rather than buying things because your experiences contribute to your long-term happiness.
I’ll complete watching module 1’s videos 4 – 9 by Sat. Sept. 10th, 2016.
